Dear colleagues,
The International Society for the Science of Existential Psychology (issep.org) is calling for Research Grant proposals; multiple funded in each of 5 tracks.
The science of existential psychology applies the research methods of contemporary psychological science to better understand the dynamics of being and becoming in social and mental life, including: time, aging, and death; freedom, authenticity, and moral responsibility; isolation, uncertainty, and shared reality; culture, the self, and identity; the quest for meaning and purpose in life; religion and spirituality; and awe, personal growth, and pursuit of the “good life.”
Four standard research grant tracks (https://www.issep.org/research-grants; $3,000 budget max)
• GENERAL: Any existential psychology topic regardless of culture, location, or discipline.
• CROSS-CULTURAL: Existential psychology research using cross-cultural theoretical and methodological approach.
• INTERNATIONAL: Existential psychology projects led by research teams based at institutions outside of North America.
• INTERDISCIPLINARY: Projects that blend the theory and methods of existential psychology with those of other disciplines.
• (a project may indicate relevance to more than one track)
One special research grant track (https://www.issep.org/ernest-becker-honors; $3,500 budget max)
• ERNEST BECKER: Must expressly address the ideas of Ernest Becker; visit ernestbecker.org or our Feature article to learn more about Becker’s contributions. The mission of ISSEP is to encourage and support the scientific discovery, communication, and application of key research findings in existential psychology. Check out the various resources ISSEP makes available to the field, including research funding, teaching materials, conference events, articles and interviews, and more.
Support these programs by joining ISSEP, making a donation, or shopping our store to pick up some “science of existential psychology” swag (100% of proceeds support programs like these).
