A Tribute to U. S. Congressman John Lewis: A Soul-Linked Message

By Carroy Ferguson, Ph.D (CUF)

With the “transition” of U. S. Congressman John Lewis to the other side overnight on the eve of July 17, 2020, on this side of the veil I/we mourn the loss of one of the most “humanistic souls” to ever walk on the planet. Many have referred to John Lewis as the “conscience of Congress” and symbolically also the “conscience of the nation (United States).” Having grown up in the segregated South in the U. S. like John Lewis, I know all too well what that experience was like and what it took to deal with the many challenges in trying to help the nation (United States) to live up to its declared intentions and ideals. And, those challenges continue today, not only in the United States, but also across the globe as people grapple with self-reflections and calls for systemic change as it relates to race relations. So, my soul resonates sadly for the loss, but also resonates with tremendous Gratitude for the wonderful and historic role that John Lewis played in making a difference with the gift of Love for all people. In my view, whether he is on this side of the veil or on the other side of the veil, he and the Energy remnants of his Consciousness will continue to be the “conscience of the nation (United States)” and perhaps the world in providing moral guidance.
